Donation from E/78 batch to the University Health Center
E/78 batch organized to donate essential items for University Health center and fund to put up a temporary inspection hut. The event which was held on Sunday 2nd of May 2021 had the presence of the Deputy Vice Chancellor of University of Peradeniya. Prof. Weerakoon, Eng. Jayathilake, Eng. Deepthi and Eng. Madurasinghe attended to represent the batch. Mr Gamunu Ranasinghe attended the event on behalf of PEFAA.

The successful 29th PEFAA AGM
29th AGM of PEFAA was successfully held online on 21-11-2020 from 10.00 a.m. onwards, with the participation of many alumni : both junior and senior and those who are living in Sri Lanka and abroad. Adhering to the health guidelines imposed due to the Covid 19 pandemic situation, the meeting was held online via Zoom.

Known to be a ‘Pera’ Alumni
Since its establishment 75 year ago, the Alumni of University of Peradeniya have contributed immensely to the world of knowledge in various fields within our shores and spanning globally. Particularly, PEFAA members, the Engineering Graduates from Peradeniya have held many key posts in Sri Lanka and overseas. Among them are senior professors, academics, administrators, chairpersons, directors, scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, businessmen, bankers, heads of professional bodies and many practical engineers. It is a known tradition that “Pera” graduates show a candid bonding among themselves wherever they meet; perhaps the memories of Peradeniya environs bring such closeness, and familiarity. It is also elating to note that the University of Peradeniya has been ranked at the highest position among all Sri Lankan Universities by the “TIMES Higher Education World University Rankings 2020” and “QS World University Rankings 2020” etc.
Thus, in order to carry forward the excellent status the University enjoys, and as a tribute to our great place of learning, the PEFAA main body and Colombo Chapter wish to invite our membership to make reference to our University whenever possible along with your names, qualifications, and whenever the name of the University is mentioned.
The move will undoubtedly help our members bond further, while also extending to identify all Alumni of Peradeniya in various other disciplines and fields.
In doing so, please make sure to refer to the University mentioning www.pdn.ac.lk along with your degree qualification in your profile.
We see that some of our members citing the name of the University, but the format does not add up to recognition, which goes unnoticed so to speak.
We are certain that you would agree and be happy to be a part of the advancement of our alma mater.
